While on our way to Puerto Galera, we really thought it's a lighthouse.
While riding on a motorized bangka on our way to Puerto Galera in Oriental Mindoro from a side port in Batangas for an event going to a resort in the island, we noticed a structure seemingly like a lighthouse. It is so huge that it is visible from afar from where we started the sea trip.
Days later after the event when we were going back to batangas, it was then revealed that the structure is not a lighthouse when we were accidentally diverted to a small port at the foot of the hill where the structure stood, because of the harsh weather condition during the time, enough to create significant wave heights that could affect the berthing of the bangka if to dock to the same area, as per feedback from companions from earlier batches. As we landed ashore, one can sight a cross nearby, do not know if it was a sunken cemetery or something, and this sparks my curiosity about what really is the place. Now while aboard the fetching vans, it was only revealed and my curiosity had its complete stop when we passed by the actual structure, only to find out that it is a statue of Mama Mary, so huge that it can be noticed from miles away.
This enormous structure is still under construction, evident of a tower crane and the scaffolds around the statue. Cannot wait to revisit the place especially when the structure will be on its complete finish and be opened to the believing public and the hopeful.
